Chocolate Layer Cake with Chocolate Caramel Ganache

I made a 6" chocolate layer cake with a chocolate caramel ganache form my birthday.

I do love silver dragées.

I've been watching Women's Olympic Gymnastics on the computer.  I gave up trying to watch it on televistion.  They edit too much, splice different parts together, and keep switching between different sports.
Last night, I watched the conclusion of this year's American Ninja Warrior.  I was surprised that Brent Steffensen was the only person out of 24 who made it through Stage 1 to make it through Stage 2.  I miss watching Levi Meeuwenberg on Ninja Warrior.  He has such a great last name for someone who can fall and jump like a cat, actually much better than Orlan, an actual cat.  Orlan does a great bunny hop.

I think these earrings were made for me.  Most days I wear stud earrings, and I do like them to be beautiful.

Update

The kitten, Little Kitty, passed away Monday night.  It's been a very sad week.  Orlan gave me lots of hugs to comfort me.
We will both miss the kitten dearly.

She found the kitten in the Toys R Us parking lot.

Monica dropped this off at our house late Wednesday night.

Adoption Day

We hadn't intended to keep the kitten, but when we went to try to submit it into the Society which fosters kittens, we were informed that our area is over saturated with kittens and there are no foster homes available.  They suggested we take it to the shelter where the kitten would most likely be put-down due to the current kitten explosion and this kitten's need for extra care.

The kitten is approximately 6 weeks old.  However, the kitten is very petite.  Orlan was about this size at only 3 weeks (but a different shape and build).

This kitten is very athletic and has already learned to run fast, play soccer, and is jumping higher and down farther each 6 hours.

Orlan and the other older cats are slowly becoming more tolerant of the kitten. Hopefully, the kitten will be able to integrate into our household well.
